Learning SQL (Structured Query Language) is valuable for several reasons:
Data Management: SQL is the standard language for managing and manipulating relational databases. Understanding SQL allows you to interact with databases efficiently, perform tasks such as retrieving, updating, inserting, and deleting data.
Career Opportunities: SQL skills are highly sought after in the job market. Many businesses and organizations use databases to store and manage their data, so proficiency in SQL opens up numerous job opportunities in fields such as data analysis, database administration, business intelligence, and software development.
Data Analysis and Reporting: SQL is essential for data analysis tasks. By querying databases using SQL, you can extract valuable insights from large datasets, perform aggregations, filter data, and generate reports to support decision-making processes within organizations.
Integration with Other Tools: SQL is often used alongside other data-related tools and technologies. Knowledge of SQL allows you to integrate database operations with programming languages, analytics tools, and business intelligence platforms, enabling seamless data workflows.
Efficiency and Performance: SQL enables efficient data retrieval and manipulation. By writing optimized SQL queries, you can improve the performance of database operations, ensuring that applications and systems perform well even with large volumes of data.
Data Integrity and Security: Understanding SQL helps you enforce data integrity constraints and implement security measures within databases. This is crucial for ensuring that data remains accurate, consistent, and protected against unauthorized access or modification.
Standardization: SQL is a standardized language adopted by most relational database management systems (RDBMS), including popular platforms like MySQL, PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, and SQLite. Once you learn SQL, you can apply your skills across different database systems without significant relearning.
Problem-Solving Skills: Learning SQL involves understanding how to structure queries to solve specific data-related problems. This process helps develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills that are valuable in various professional contexts beyond database management.

In June 1962, the first American space probe to Venus (Mariner I) went off course and had to be destroyed because of an error in one of the guidance programs in its onboard computer.
One statement of the program, though syntactically correct, had a meaning altogether different from that intended by the programmer. Although few bugs have such spectacular effects, errors in computer programs are frequent and influential. There has been substantial effort recently to apply mathematical rigor to the programming process and to enable the accuracy of the machine to compensate for the error-prone human mind.
In the late nineteenth and early twentieth century, mathematics underwent a process of formalization and axiomatization, partially in an effort to escape from paradoxes and logical errors encountered by previous generations of mathematicians. A similar process is underway in the development of a logical theory of programs.’ This theory has already made our understanding of programs more precise and may soon facilitate our construction of computer programs as well.
Logical techniques are being developed
- to prove programs correct,
- to detect programming errors,
- to improve the efficiency of program operation,
- to extend or modify existing programs, and even
- to construct new programs satisfying a given specification;
In the last decade, this field of research has been extremely active; it now has the potential to exert a deep influence on the way computer programs are produced.

Java is an object-oriented programming language, created in 1995 by Sun Microsystems. It was designed as an alternative to the extremely difficult C ++ distinguished by the absence of both systematicity and logical restrictions in software development. The new approach also had to solve other urgent issues, like security, cross-platform, versatility, etc.
Features of Java
- Versatility. Java applies for both frontend and backend components development. Moreover, IT-specialists use it to design narrow-profile software for cars and smart houses, as well as solutions for banks and payment systems.
- Simplicity and Convenience. The logic of the language is pretty clear. Harsh code structure allows seamlessly maintaining solutions. The developer can easily navigate the code of any complexity and improve the required component quickly. Besides, special auto-complete and auto-correction functions simplify the specialist's work.
- Cross-platform. Write once run anywhere - Java slogan for this feature. The advantage of this executing program method is the complete byte-code independence from the operating system and hardware. So, Java code can run on any device for which the JVM was implemented. This way, an application will work equally well on Windows, Linux, and other operating systems.
- Stable Stack. Working with Java, most companies use Spring, Hibernate frameworks. Thus, it is easy to replace the development team if it is needed. Many professionals in the market are experienced in these technologies.
- Reliability. The inheritance hierarchy improves the code readability and reduces the number of forced errors. The strong typing guarantees unambiguous data interpretation.
- Safety. The Java platform defines several APIs covering public infrastructure, authentication, secure transmission, and access control.
- Well-built ecosystem. During 25 years, engineers have created hundreds of frameworks, thousands of libraries, and plugins. Besides, the Java community is massive. in 2019, there were 26.4 mln Java developers. Their number will increase up to 45 mln in 2030. So any question regarding this language is already answered.
Future of Java
Java has grown to be integral to much of the modern internet and mobile app landscape, and promises to continue to be part of the information technology toolkit for some time in the future. A quarter century is an eternity in programming, so raise a `class` to Java, past, present, and future.
